Toronto! January 2011
There should be more than just a wedding that brings somone out east; just close enough to still look like winnipeg,(where the people look just like us - even the new comers look like the long time Torontonian settlers - without the possibility that you think you've EVER run into them or even their 3rd circle of acquaintances, like you do back home. Besides having that nostalgic feel of familiarity, and relaxed pace, Toronto was a wonderful place to visit. I would have loved to have stayed longer, to take in more poetry and music, but again - the reason for the visit was the wedding. Big word of Thanks to Charlie, for bringing me with him, and for taking me to the Battle. I'm glad we got to go together, and enjoy the city, food, and a bit of culture - plus meet with old friends. Thanks to Peter and Jasmine, the newlyweds, and to Ganwin - who took Charlie and I drinking, and introduced us to a lovely game involving a very large beer pitcher/tap and dice!
